Am I a bad developer for letting implementation considerations affect user interface decisions ("okay this is kind of awkward but it makes for more elegant code")?
@ayo no. You're a good developer, who has seen The Way of Unix.
@Wolf480pl But how do I convince users of The Way of Unix?
@ayo you wait until they see that this way is less buggy, more predictable, and easier to understand how it works inside
But, but... most users will pick pretty and convenient over bug-free and predictable anytime!
@ayo Does VNDB have any competition?
@Wolf480pl No. Which means those users can't flock to alternatives and have to put up with my crap. And I with them.
@ayo well I guess it depends on whether the point is to write a piece of software that users can interface with or code for simply for the sake of code
@ayo Depends on how frequently you do it.
